BC artists Jean Bradbury was selected to create a mural for the Food Bank/Wellness Centre building as part of the 2023 Mural Festival, however the week she was supposed to arrive in Peachland, was the week the town was place on evacuation alert due to the Glen Lake wildfire.
Everyone thought it best if we rescheduled her painting dates till early 2024. It was definitely worth the wait!
The wall was a challenge for several reasons, but all the players came together to make this mural happen. A huge thanks to the team at the food bank, for providing volunteer assistance; to the District of Peachland who accommodated the need for a proper surface for the mural, and to the Wellness Centre, for their help in getting this project completed.
And of course a huge thank you to Jean, the artist for being so gracious, flexible and amazing!
